The background is black while the subject face has light on its face making it the main focus , theres words written all over the subject face telling a story about his life giving the listeners an idea about what on the album, theres drawing on the album such as glasses words ears and around his mouth . the lines is not straight more like a rough line drawing  more like a doodle drawing or a modernism drawing .

typographic style

this has a simple background with a light colour blue with big bold fonts with a bright red and pink text which makes it look like a bubble gum theme .  the album cover has a cartoonish look to it with its big fonts and its colour .
The text is more modernism type style because the A is like half of an a connecting to the s with the line in the middle and on the D  and they place the THE in the center of the U in a small size font which makes it look really modernism type style . the image has a black and white background while the ladies dresses are in colour which they are trying to convey a meaning to the listeners .
this album cover gives a creepy look and or rock music vibes if anyone would have seen this cover and give their opinion about it . its design has a black background while the writing is in white  with big numbers like a safe code look where have to scroll to enter the look pin and the album has finger scratches on its cover .
Type design can give your words a (1)voice   It can really add meaning and enhance the (2)message ....................  of your words. For example, on the Dizzie album they have used some really (3)cheeky ..................  and chunky typography here. It not only (4).illustrate ..........................  the word but loads it with (5)character .........................  and it's great for someone that has personality like Dizzie. In contrast to this one, I've got the Saturdays album and the typography here is really (6)elegant .............................. and beautifully crafted. It's much much more (7)feminine ....................... than the Dizzie one and it works very well with the fashionesque shoot on the front. In total contrast to my last two albums, I've got the Prodigy Dirtchamber sessions. They've used found and (8)disstress ........................ type on the front cover and all the way through the album including the booklet where they've hand (9).scratch...................... all the track names into the booklet. And I think this works really beautifully with the (10)mishmash............................... of music that is on the CD.

flower

1.create a new file a4 land scape

2.Draw a circle with the ellipse tool. Hold the shift button to create the circle. Leave the colour as default (white fill and black line).

3.Go to the Effects menu > Distort and Transform > Roughen

4.Using the sliders, make the circle slightly rough. You will need to experiment. There really is not the "right" amount to chose. Smooth points might be best as we are creating flowers. But again you might want to experiment.

5. Expand the circle. Go to the Object menu > Expand Appearance.  There will be no change in the appearance of the rough circle.

6. Double click on the Scale Tool (in the Tool Panel).

7.Enter 80 in the Uniform Scale field. Again there is not "right" amount and you should eventually experiment.

8.Make sure the Preview is turned on. Press the Copy button. (The other options are fine to leave as they are).
Now you will have two objects on the art board similar to the picture below.
When your finish doing like ten of them start adding some colours to the flower
9.Open the Gradient Panel

10.Drag colour from the Colour Panel or Swatches panel to either end of the Gradient Bar (the bar that is going from white to black, shown above).

    11. Chose appropriate colours for a flower.

12.Change the Type of gradient from Linear to Radial. See above

     13. Select all the objects on your art board (the rough circles).

     14. Click on the Swatch of the gradient you created (on the Gradient Panel, beneath the word Gradient).

15.You should see something like the picture above  It is a good idea to group the object. Select them all and press Command + G on the keyboard.

unit 16 What is a logo ?

What is a logo?

A Logo is a design symbolising ones Organization. It is a design that is used by an Organizations for its letterhead, advertising material, and signs as an emblem by which the Organizations can easily be recognize, also called logotype. Logotype is a graphic representation or symbol of a company name, trademark, abbreviation, etc., often uniquely designed for ready recognition.

Types of logos:

1. SYMBOL OR ICON

2. WORD MARK

3.LETTER MARK

4.COMBINATION MARK

BRASS has a colour of black with very light blue with shapes such as half a circle , full circle and rectangle . It has a smooth texture and straight lines . The logo above represent a word mark logo. theres space between each letter which means none of the letters are touching each other . The tone of the logo has a bold black colour and and light background to make the logo pop out more or more visible to peoples eyes . The words are well balance because nothing is out of shape such as one letter is bigger than one they all the same . The logo has a proportion of shapes such as rectangle piece of a shape and a part of a shape .
NOPICNIC has a bright red with white in the word mark  with a rectangle shape font . It has a smooth texture to its surface . Theres space between each letter and the tone of the logo has white wording and a red background to make the white stands out more .The logo is well balance every letter is the same size . The words is not align , they are not straight . Theirs lines in the logo and have a square box frame . On the sides, out side the inner red theres a light cream frame going around the red square .
The example of the logo above is used on the website of Brody Associates. The logo is very simple and formal. There is a square black background with a white shape of a capital B in the middle . In this example most of the space of the logo is taken up with the white shape against the black.  This has given it the maximum of contrast, because the logo is simple it is quite adaptable
The white area is shaped to form the upper-case letter B for the name Brody. I have found out the graphic designer Neville Brody set up the company and to me the white shape is also suggestive of the letter N, his first initial. It is like the initials have been merged together; without the knowledge, however, of knowing his first name, looking at logo it could appear as though a letter B has been stretched out to form the entire shape.
